Cedaredge
is proud of the great attractions and activities that can be found in this
small rural community. Be sure to visit Pioneer Town (pictured), a
re-constructed replica of a pioneer town in Western Colorado. Many
of the buildings were originally part of Cedaredge. Located on the site of
the Bar I Ranch, you will find the Main Street, silos, Adobe Museum, an
impressive doll collection, a school house, the Chapel of the Cross and of
course, Stolte Shed.
The
art community in Cedaredge is overflowing with talent. Painters, potters
and musicians are joined by cultural artists who practice blacksmithing,
soap making, leather work, quilting and tatting. Concerts in the
park, jam sessions in orchards and special events surround the soul with
beautiful music and tones.
Visit
pottery studios, art galleries and artist studios to view their work and
take some home. Several area artists are nationally known working in
watercolor, oil, pencil, clay and glass. The Apple Shed art complex houses
a number of galleries. Once a working packing shed, this unique shopping
venue is fun to browse through. Gifts, food and a few new friends are
waiting for you.
Main
Street in Cedaredge is quaint and inviting. Take the time to sip a soda at
the original soda fountain, it's a treat. Visit the galleries and shops
where you will definitely find something different.
Main St. Gallery has a selection of local art and pieces from around the
world. Wander into the Country Market for antiques and gifts or the
Cedaredge Floral and find a working soda fountain. Manna Natural Foods
supplies the area with fresh organics and great information for those
seeking organics for the first time.
Wander
off of Main and find a large selection of antiques, rodeo grounds, the largest ice cream cone
you will ever eat, and the entrance to the Grand
Mesa National Scenic and Historic Byway.
Take
home great tastes from the area. Wineries and roadside stands are open and
provide tempting samples. The wineries are award winning producers.
Stoney Mesa Winery produces a variety of wines and Red Mountain Ranches
hosts a tasting room. Stop into either a try some. You
will be sure to find a new favorite.
The orchards and roadside stands sell
directly from the tree to you. Some
even allow you to pick your own. Fruit grown at this high elevation
produce high sugar and juice content. Bite into one of our apples and
you'll forget where Washington is.
Take
a drive on the DeerCreek Golf Course,
spectacular views, well-groomed greens and great weather might not improve
your game, but it will improve your experience. Course fees are quite
reasonable and the clubhouse is home to the Grill.
Take
a drive of another kind and travel the Grand
Mesa National Scenic and Historic Byway. This 63 mile route takes you
up to a tabletop mesa with sweeping vistas, a variety of wildlife,
recreational attractions, lodging, dining, interpretive talks, and of
course the usual camping, picnic sites, and more. Visit the Powderhorn
Resort for skiing in winter, fall provides an abundance of
opportunities for big game and summer, well it's great! The two
communities of Mesa and Cedaredge are the gateways to the Byway. Many
services are provided in these communities.
